Why Robotschool exists
Robotschool Namibia was created because children need more than screen time. They need guided, practical experiences where they learn how technology works, how to solve problems, and how to create with confidence.
Many children are naturally curious. They want to build, test, question, take things apart, and understand how the world works. Robotschool gives that curiosity a structured place to grow.
Our goal is not only to teach robotics or coding.
Our goal is to help children become confident problem-solvers, creative thinkers, and practical technology users who are better prepared for the future.

How we teach
Our classes are built around practical learning. Each session is approximately 80% hands-on work and 20% theory, so children do not only hear about technology, they build, code, test, fail, improve, and understand it through experience.
Learners work with real equipment, real builds, and structured challenges. They follow guided instructions, work with instructors, solve problems step by step, and receive feedback as they progress.
Classes are small and instructor-led, which allows us to support each child, encourage teamwork, and help learners build confidence at their own pace.
Founded in 2018
Robotschool Namibia started from a simple belief: children learn best when they are allowed to make, test, explore, and try again.
Our founder, Bjorn Wiedow, has always believed that practical learning can unlock confidence in children. Robotschool was built to give young learners a space where big ideas are welcomed, mistakes are part of the process, and technology becomes something they can understand and create with, not just consume.
Since 2018, Robotschool has grown into a practical learning environment where children develop robotics, coding, engineering, design, creativity, teamwork, resilience, and problem-solving skills.

Our team combines technical knowledge, practical experience, and a strong commitment to mentoring young learners with patience, care, and high standards.

Founder
Bjorn Wiedow
Bjorn Wiedow is a Namibian entrepreneur, designer, and education innovator with more than 15 years of experience in digital skills development. As the founder of Robotschool Namibia, he has played a leading role in creating practical technology learning opportunities for young people.
His work has included national projects such as the GIZ Digital Transformation Centre and FabLab Namibia, where he contributed to digital skills development, makerspace innovation, and vocational learning. Through Robotschool, he is focused on building an environment where children and teens can develop real confidence with technology and prepare for a rapidly changing world.

Manager
Rayvin Berry
Rayvin Berry is a Namibian maker, artist, and manager at Robotschool, with strong hands-on experience in product development, machinery operation, CAD design, and Internet of Things projects.
He plays an important role in shaping the practical side of the Robotschool experience, from mentoring students to helping develop new robotic builds and technical learning projects. His work is driven by a commitment to youth development, practical creativity, and helping students become capable, curious problem-solvers.

Maggie Nankambe
Instructor
Maggie helps create a supportive, engaging learning environment where students are encouraged to explore, build, and grow in confidence. As an instructor at Robotschool, she plays an important role in guiding children through practical technology learning with patience, encouragement, and care.
She is part of the mentoring culture that makes Robotschool distinct: structured guidance, personal attention, and a belief that every child can make progress through practice and support.

Instructor
Chris Olivier
Chris Olivier is an experienced educator with a strong background in science, technology, and practical teaching. Before joining Robotschool, he spent many years teaching physics and chemistry and became an early advocate for blended learning and the thoughtful use of technology in education.
His work in digital skills training has included teaching CAD and Unreal Engine game development through the Digital Transformation Centre. At Robotschool, he helps students build the confidence, logic, and technical understanding needed to engage meaningfully with robotics, coding, and future-focused learning.
